One post-doctoral position is offered by the Laboratory of Cell Signaling and Death at the Federal University of São Paulo’s Institute of Pharmacology and Cell Biology (INFAR/UNIFESP), hosted by its Medical School (Escola Paulista de Medicina, EPM/UNIFESP).

The approach suggested in this project involves investigating the role of cannabinoids as potential modulators of autophagy, in in vitro and in vivo models of Parkinson’s disease. In addition, the induction and modulation of autophagic signaling pathways and their ability to promote neuroprotection will be evaluated. The main results of these studies will be the subject of future translational research in patients.

The candidate must have a doctorate in the area of Pharmacology or similar areas, with a title obtained less than 4 years ago. Must have extensive knowledge and practical experience in fluorescence microscopy techniques, molecular biology, analysis of gene and protein expression. The candidate’s expertise must be proven by previous publications in specialized Journals. Must be fluent in English, and also be able to work in a multidisciplinary team.

For this application, send a letter of interest (maximum 200 words), CV (curriculum summary in the FAPESP model [] or link) and two recommendation letters to and until 06/02/2020.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
