Research focus: Neural, Hormonal and Molecular Control of the Cardiovascular System in physiological and pathophysiological conditions. Experimental Arterial Hypertension and Autonomic Cardiovascular System Control.

Dr. Campos Junior is currently Full Professor at the Federal University of Sao Paulo (UNIFESP) - Escola Paulista de Medicina (EPM). He is Coordinator of the EPM-UNIFESP Pharmacology Program and Vice-Coordinator of the Post-Graduation Chamber of the Paulista School of Medicine - UNIFESP. He is Associate Editor of the Autonomic Neuroscience Basic and Clinical (Elsevier), Area Editor of the Brazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research and Guest Editor of Frontiers - Oxidant Physiology. In 2016, he acted as guest editor of Autonomic Neuroscience Basic and Clinical in the Special Issue - Role of renal nerves in normal and pathophysiological conditions. He held the position of treasurer of the Brazilian Society of Physiology in the biennium 2013-2014. He holds a PhD from UNIFESP-EPM in 2001, postdoctoral degree from the University of Melbourne Australia - Howard Florey Institute of Experimental Physiology and Medicine (1995-1997) under the supervision of Professor Dr. Robin McAllen. PhD in Physiology (UNIFESP, 1993) and Master's Degree in Human Physiology (ICBI-USP, 1989) under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Pedro Gaspar Guertzenstein. Bachelor in Physiotherapy (IMESPP-UNESP, 1984). Has experience in the area of ​​Cardiovascular Physiology, with emphasis on cardiovascular regulation and experimental arterial hypertension; Central mechanisms generating sympathetic vasomotor activity; cardiac insufficiency; Renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, oxidative stress. He teaches in the following undergraduate courses: Medicine, Biomedicine, Nursing, Speech and Hearing Therapy and Higher Technology Courses (Health Informatics, Radiology and Ophthalmic) from EPM-UNIFESP.
